Top 10 Happy Hours on Maui

The Sea House remains at the top of our list for Happy Hour on Maui. Don’t let the secret out because this hidden gem has it all! The Sea House is very “old Hawaii” and sits right off Napili Bay. Enjoy fabulous ocean views in a casual, tropical setting.

The Sea House has one of the best Happy Hour menus which feature their signature appetizers and cocktails. Don’t leave without trying their award-winning Poke Nachos. Happy Hour is from 2:00 pm- 5:00pm every day.

Down the Hatch has quickly become a number one spot for Happy Hour on Maui. They are located across the street from the Banyan Tree in Lahaina at the Wharf Cinema Center, making it a perfect location to take a break after site seeing on Front Street. They have even been featured on “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives,” and serve fantastic food with an even better Happy Hour.

Their bartenders don’t skimp on the good stuff and they even make an adult shave ice, complete with rum! Happy Hour is from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm and also features live music as well.

One of the most romantic and breathtaking locations for Happy Hour is at Merriman’s, located at the point, on Kapalua Bay. Merriman`s was recently named one of the "Top 10 Travelers Choice Restaurants" in the United States by TripAdvisor.

Merriman’s award-winning restaurant has a farm-to-table concept, with over 90% of what you see on your plate being locally sourced.

Merriman’s is famous for their signature mai tais, which are by far the best mais tai out there. During Happy Hour their mai tais, cocktails and pupus are discounted, which means it’s a lot easier to say yes to another round!

Happy Hour is from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, every day with live music. 

The Burger Shack is another hidden gem at the Kapalua Resort; it sits right off DT Flemings Beach at the Ritz Carlton. This outdoor eatery serves incredible burgers and some of the best “crazy shakes” on Maui. We also love the Burger Shack for one of the most unique drinks on Maui, the Welken’s Mai Tai Shake. That’s right, an alcoholic mai tai shake!

This drink features Kula toasted coconut rum, house made orange pineapple jam, dark rum, Tahitian ice cream and coconut whipped cream. It’s basically happiness in a large glass!

Their food and fabulous drinks are discounted during Happy Hour from 3:00- 4:00 pm.

Frida’s is one of our all-time favorite oceanfront restaurants and with Mark Ellman as the owner, it is no surprise why. Mark is a legend in the food world on Maui, owning the 5-star restaurants of Honu, Mala, Maui Tacos and Penne Pasta, just to name a few. 

Frida’s is located just adjacent to the ocean, offering guests unobstructed ocean and island views. During whale season you’ll be treated to some of the best seats to watch the whales at play while you sip on your cocktails.

Frida’s serves up affordable and traditional Mexican dishes, with an emphasis on seafood. They have an incredible Happy Hour from 3:00 om- 4:30 pm. Sip on their famous margaritas (best on the island), have some pupus and enjoy the gorgeous ocean views!

Kohola Brewery is a microbrewery in the heart of Lahaina. This location will not offer you ocean or tropical views, but it does offer an opportunity to see another side of Maui and sample some fresh brews in a family friendly setting!

From 4:00 pm- 6 pm daily, enjoy a $1 off all Kohola House Pints in their taproom. Kohola is known for their lagers and ales, but also make some wonderful IPA’s including their WaterMan IPA.

Besides its beer creations, Kohola also serves wine, cider, draft lemonade, nitro coffee, root beer and signature cocktails from local distilleries. Food is not served, but you are welcome to bring your own.

Monkeypod is one of our most recommend restaurants on all Maui. This “farm-to-table” restaurant is the creation of world renowned chef, Peter Merriman. Guests will find a large variety of dishes, all with the freshest local ingredients and five-star quality. Monkeypod also prides itself with their laidback atmosphere, serving some of the best beer and cocktails on the island. You truly feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. Monkeypods offers a wonderful Happy Hour with live music from 3:00 PM- 5:30 PM, and 9:00 PM- 11 PM.

We tell all our guests they can’t leave the island without trying one of their famous Mai Tais, topped with a honey-lilioi foam. This may be the king of all Mai Tais! We also love their Poke Tacos, tasty pizzas and Bulgogi Pork Tacos.

Fleetwood’s on Front Street is owned and operated by legendary musician, Mick Fleetwood. Not only is Fleetwood’s famous for their award-winning food, but also for their sought-after ocean views and rocking live music!

Their rooftop bar offers guests unobstructed ocean views, and a happy hour that does not disappoint. Every “Aloha Friday” happy hour starts at 11am and goes to 4 pm and the rest of the week Happy Hour goes from 2:00 pm- 5:00 pm. There is nothing like experiencing a sunset on this famous rooftop, or an evening under the stars looking out over historic Lahaina Town.

Hula Grill is legendary on Maui and is one of the most popular restaurants on the island. This casual, island style eatery sits right off Ka’anapali Beach at the Whalers Village and offers great cocktails, pupus, live music, people watching and ocean views!

Hula Grill features both inside and outside dinning, but during Happy Hour the Barefoot Bar is where you want to be! Sit outside with your toes in the sand as you enjoy an atmosphere like no other. Happy Hour is from 2:30 pm- 5:00 pm and here you can find a great cocktail and pupu menu.

The Barefoot Bar is seated on a walk-in basis.

Get away from all the crowds and have a stress-free and hassle free Happy Hour at the Pour House located at the Kapalua Resort. The Pour House is an Italian kitchen and wine bar and offers Happy Hour from 5:00 pm-6:00 pm every day. Sit inside or outside on their lovely patio and enjoy wine, beer and appetizers.
