Common Questions about Vacation Rental Homes


-How and when do I pay?
We require our guest to pay a 35% deposit upon booking and full payment is due 30 days before check-in, and 45 days prior to arrival December 15 – January 15. We accept Visa, Discover, MasterCard, checks or exact cash (checks must have time to clear our bank before they are credited to your reservation). Our system automatically charges guest balances within 30 days of arrival, on the credit card that was used to secure the reservation.  
 
-What are your vacation rental cancellation policies?
* Cancel prior to 30 days of arrival and receive a full refund, minus the Processing Fee and Non Refundable Booking Fee. Cancellations made after 30 days prior to arrival are subject to a charge of 100% of room and tax of the original reservation. 
* For reservations made through 3rd parties - AirBnb, VRBO, Flip Key - additional cancellation policies may apply according to their policies.
* Holiday reservations are non-refundable - December 15 – January 15. 
 
-Do you offer travel insurance?
We do not offer travel insurance but we HIGHLY recommend all our guest do so. We follow our cancelation policy and care about the investment you have made in your trip. For this reason, we highly encourage you to purchase travel insurance to protect yourself from life's unexpected surprises. 

-What is my check-in/check-out time?
Check-in time is at 3 pm, and check out time is 11 am.
 
-Can I have an early check in or a late check out?
Absolutely! If we can get you in your villa early, we are more than happy to do so. Late check-outs will require a charge of one half the daily rent.
 
-How do we check in?
Checking in is easy and painless. Our goal is to get you in your door as quickly as possible. Four our villas with keyless locks, we will send you your unique door code on the day of your arrival. If your villa requires keys, we will meet you at your villa to present you with the keys. Just give us a call on your way over! Given our policy of 24-hour check in, you can be assured we will be there, no matter when you arrive.

-How do we check out?
Checking out is easy and painless. Check out time is at 11 am, unless you have scheduled a late departure. We ask that you please turn off the AC, close all louvers and windows, and close and lock any sliding glass doors. Please leave all your keys on the counter in the kitchen for us to collect. It is not necessary to empty the trash, but our cleaning staff truly appreciate the help.  

-What is the maximum sleeping capacity?
Our one bedroom villas sleep up to four people. The villas feature king size beds, but most villas also have pull-out sofas. Futons are also available upon request. Our two bedroom villas sleep six, and also have pull out beds.
 
-What is the age requirement to book a stay?
21 years of age. At least one guest must be 21 years or older for the duration of the stay.

-What if there is an emergency or we get locked out?
We have staff on site 24 hours a day, 7-days a week. If you get locked out or have an after hours emergency please give us call anytime, day or night. 
 
-Do you offer pet friendly vacation rentals?
Pets are strictly prohibited on property grounds, for the exception of service animals. 
 
-Do you offer any smoke friendly properties?
Smoking is strictly prohibited on property grounds.
 
-What can I expect when entering our villa?
All villas come fully furnished with all the comforts you would find in your own home. Villas feature bedding, linens, beach towels, a washer and dryer, a fully stocked kitchen, a refrigerator/freezer, microwave, oven, dishwasher, and, table and chairs.  You will also find TVs, cable, WIFI, a private telephone, an AC (most units), a starter supply of shampoo, conditioner, soap, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dishwasher and dish soap, and paper towels and trash bags.  All villas have their own parking. Last but not least, a complimentary box of chocolate macadamia nuts!
During your stay if you find you need something extra, please do not hesitate to give us a call and we will be more than happy to provide it for you.
 
-What are the amenities at The Ridge?
The Ridge Villas are located in twenty-nine separate buildings on twenty-two lush, manicured acres. They feature two crystal clear heated swimming pools, both equipped with BBQs, a covered seating area, lounge chairs, bathrooms, a shower and herb gardens. Pool “One” features a full kitchen and larger covered seating area, making it perfect for larger gatherings. All Ridge Villas come with covered parking, and additional parking is available in designated parking spaces.
 
-What activities can I enjoy at The Kapalua® Resort?
The Kapalua® Resort features three white sand beaches, just a quick walk from your villa. One of these beaches, Kapalua Bay, has won numerous awards, including “Best Beach in the World,” by Conde Nast. Guests may also enjoy numerous restaurants (casual to high-end), two world-class spas, hiking trails, The Kapalua® Coastal Trail, twenty tennis courts, two championship golf courses, resort shopping, free door-to-door shuttle and more.
 
-Where do we put the trash and can we recycle?
Guests can dispose of their trash in the multiple, designated trash collection areas around The Ridge Villa grounds. All recycled goods can be taken to a designated collection area, located beside The Ridge office.

-Can we ship items to the villa before we arrive?
Absolutely! Feel free to ship whatever you need to our office. We will hold it for you until you arrive. Upon check in, our staff will have your belongings waiting for you in your villa.
 
-Can I rent high chairs, cribs, wheelchairs and other important items?
Whether you need a crib, high chair, walker or wheelchair, we can rent any item and have them waiting when you arrive at your villa. If you are making your reservation online, you can select the item upon check out. If you do not see what you are looking for, please give us a call and we will be more than happy to assist you.
 
-Can I have flowers, wine or any other miscellaneous item waiting?
There is nothing we enjoy more than helping our guests add those special touches to their vacations. Whatever you dream up, we can make a reality.  Guests frequently request fresh flowers, fruit baskets, wine and champagne in their villas upon check in.
We can also help you design these magical touches on a larger scale. Allow us to create a romantic ambiance in your villa, to be there for you upon your arrival. We may even help you to set the stage for the perfect wedding proposal!
 
-Do you offer military discounts?
At Ridge Realty/Rentals, we are forever grateful to our incredible military men and women, those who selflessly serve this country. To show our gratitude, we offer a 10% discount for all Active Duty U.S. military members.
 
-I understand that groceries are expensive on Maui. Where is the best place to shop?
If you know just where to shop, then Maui food prices will not be such a shock.  Towards that end, the first place we tell our guests to head, after leaving the airport, is Costco. Costco is located across the street from Kahului Airport and has the best prices on the island, hands down. This is a great place to stock up on all your groceries, beverages and pineapples. We also recommend picking up a couple of jugs of “POG.” POG is the favorite Hawaiian drink. It can be found in the dairy/juice section. POG is a juice that consists of passion, orange, guava nectar. It also tastes fantastic with a little splash of rum! If you do not have a membership to Costco, or need some extras during your trip, we recommend The Grocery Depot in Lahaina. Here you will find fresh local produce and products, at an affordable price.

-Airport transportation
There are two commercial airports on Maui. Kahului is the main airport, where most commercial flights arrive. The drive from Kahului Airport to the Kapalua® Resort takes about 45 minutes. There is also the smaller Kapalua® Airport, located on the west side of the island. It is only a quick, 5-minute ride to the Resort. 
 
Directions:
From Kahului Airport to The Ridge Villas:
- Take H-380 to the first traffic light you see and merge left through the light.
- Continue on until you reach H-30, then turn left.
- Follow H-30 along the beautiful Maui coastline for about twenty-five miles.
- Eventually, you will reach a hill with the Kapalua® Resort sign at the top. Turn left here, onto Office Road.
- Drive down Office Road until it dead ends onto Honoapiilani Road.  Turn left.
- Take the first left into The Ridge and follow the numbers up until you reach your villa.
 
From Kapalua® Airport to The Ridge Villas:
- Drive out of airport and turn right onto Honoapiilani Hwy, H-30.
- Turn left onto Office Road. Drive down Office Road until it dead ends onto Honoapiilani Road. Turn left.
- Take the first left into The Ridge and follow the numbers up until you reach your villa.
