After landing and upon leaving the airport, we suggest that you visit Costco; you will find it located just across the street from the Kahului Airport. Prices for groceries and other household items can be pretty steep on Maui, and it is better to know that up front; so, stock up on sunscreens, pineapples, liquor, beer, meat and – “POG.”  Yep, you will love POG (Passion Orange Guava) – the official juice drink of Hawaii. It is addictively delicious on its own, or, served as a mixed drink for a fabulous adult beverage. It will put you in spirit your very first taste!

The Honolua Store is located in the Kapalua Resort, making this an easy location to grab some beer for your picnic or wine for the evening. With a wonderful selection of Hawaii liquor, as well as beer and wine, the Honolua Store has something for everyone.

You can walk, drive or even take the free shuttle down to the Honolua Store.

The Napili Market is located at the Napili Plaza; they sell everything offered in a typical chain grocery store. Napili Market is the nearest full service grocery store to the Resort. However, prices are on the higher side.

We do recommend Napili Market for their “Maui Potato Chips.”   These amazing chips are not always easy to find but Napili Market does a respectable job of keeping them in stock.

This 24-hour Safeway is located at the Cannery Mall in Lahaina. It is one of the best places to go grocery shopping on the west side of Maui. Their prices are lower than most stores, and the selection is extensive. It is one of the top grossing Safeway’s in the United States, so naturally you can expect it to be crowded from time to time.

They have an excellent selection local brands, Asian food, Poke and a wonderful floral department.

Foodland Farms is one of the top rated specialty grocery stores on Maui. Walking into Foodland Farms stirs the senses. With a large selection of beautiful, locally grown produce, and, a never ending selection of fresh fish and Poke, Foodland Farms has everything you need to experience the true taste of Hawaii.

They also have a fantastic selection of hot sandwiches, gelato, local favorites, specialty meats, cheese and wine.

This is the perfect place to visit if you are planning a picnic or a romantic dinner on the beach.

Island Grocery Depot is a great place to shop for some of the best deals on Maui. They specialize in local produce, as well as hard-to-find local and national brands.

Island Grocery caters to local families, so it is the best place to come if you are looking for a bargain, and, some of the best local produce on the island. Truly a gem!

Times Supermarket and is a convenient location when you simply do not feel up to the drive to Lahaina. Naturally, the prices are a tad higher than comparable stores in Lahaina, but the selections are very good – they have meats, produce, local food items and a nice deli and bakery.

Some of the freshest fish on the island is available at The Fish Market, on Lower Honoapiilani Road. We highly recommend a visit for any of your fish needs. Most of the fish is caught daily, and so freshness is not even a consideration. You will find such find such varieties as Ahi, Mahi Mahi, Opakapaka, live Lobster, cocktail platters and more. The Fish Market will even custom season your fish on request.  The Fish Market also serves up some ono (good) food!

Featuring both lunch and dinner, The Fish Market is where locals come to buy some of the best fish tacos and sandwiches to be found anywhere on the island.

Yes, Maui Brewing Company Brew Pub sells beer and food to be enjoyed in the restaurant, but many do not know that they also sell their award winning beers to take home. This is one of the best options to ensure your beer is fresh and top of the line!

They will happily sell by the growler.  You will also find their four and six packs in many local outlets.

Longs Drugs is located in the Cannery Mall in Lahaina, and is, believe it or not, one of the best places for great deals on wine! If you are a wine drinker and happen to be in Lahaina, stop by Longs and check out their daily specials.

Local, organic, fresh- that is what you get when you visit Farmers Market Maui. Farmers Market Maui is an organic grocery store that also has an outside farmers market during the week and an incredible eatery inside that sells delicious organic and vegan creations.  Stop by for their salad bar, tasty acai bowls, smoothies, fresh banana bread and all your grocery shopping needs.
